Overview
This intriguing rural character property is a former Lakeland chapel; a stunning blend of olde worlde character and 21st century chic. Only a 10 minute drive from Bowness and Lake Windermere, The Old Chapel enjoys a blissful countryside setting; only a stroll from an excellent country pub yet in complete seclusion at the foot of a gated road.
One or two couples will find this the perfect retreat; with elegant space for socialising but plenty of privacy too. The adorable bedrooms (one featuring a Victorian corner bath) are set on separate floors. Families will enjoy a magical location for country walks and activities, without straying too far from the most popular Lake District attractions. Location
This cottage is ideally located for a peaceful Lake District break, within the attractive hamlet of Crook and only a short drive from the popular attractions at Bowness and Lake Windermere.
Crook is pleasantly separate from the more crowded towns and surrounded by views of rolling hills and the Lyth and Winster Valleys. Traditional pubs serving delicious food are dotted throughout this green and pleasant area. Good food, peace and quiet are guaranteed.
Steeped in history and folklore, Crook was once home to the area's mill and industrial workers. There are traditional cottages dating back to the 17th century still stand. The Lyth Valley comes alive with Damson blossom in the spring. Make sure you try some of the Damson delicacies on offer at the local bars and restaurants. Why not take home a bottle of Damson Gin as a souvenir?
Lake shore attractions, sophisticated shops and evening entertainments are easily reached in Bowness village, just a few miles away. On your way, you'll also pass the prestigious Windermere Golf Club while only a short stroll from your cottage is Beckside Golf Club.
