“We loved the house and really enjoyed our stay.”
The view and location are outstanding. The decor is dated, the pictures on the walls faded, but it was spotlessly clean, so we didn't mind.
The only large negative was the very thin duvets. 10.5 tog may be standard, but this is a hillside house in the Lake District in March, with high winds and torrential rain, even hail at times. We used the lap banket off the sofa, and all the large towels spread across the beds, and were still cold. You really need to supply a couple of additional blankets in the colder months.
Couple of other thoughts - there's a sign by each toilet asking not to flush unwanted items and put them in the bin provided - but there's only a bin in one of the bathrooms. There could do with being a bin in both. The curtain track in the middle bedroom doesn't pull smoothly and needs mending. A pair of kitchen tongs would have been handy, as would a small cheap hairdryer. I don't usually use one, but when we got very wet, it would have been useful.
Other than the cold we had a lovely stay, and would come back, but maybe in summer this time.
