As you enjoy cooking in a state-of-the-art kitchen, doggy can get out from under your feet and enjoy the exciting new scents and sounds within your private, gardens.

For more exercise, we have cottages with walks straight from your cottage door. So those that don’t like travelling can enjoy more time enjoying walkies. With 16 lakes in the Lake District and many more tarns and rivers there’s lots of safe places for pooch to enjoy a splash about too. Fetch is also a firm favourite, and what better than the 24.47 km² of car-free trails in Grizedale Forest, east of Coniston Water.

Following your nose on a dog friendly short break, you’ll more than likely end up in a dog friendly pub like The Britannia Inn in the Langdales or The Drunken Duck, just outside Ambleside. In Keswick – Kennel Club’s ‘Most Dog Friendly Town’ three-time award winner – there are water bowls and doggy treats in most shops, pubs and cafes.

Our guests with dogs find self-catering a particularly easy way to holiday, as you can let pooch set the schedule. Late evening walkies or an early morning breakie, self-catering gives you flexibility.
