Lake District cottage holidays this February Half Term

Take a look at our selection of Lake District cottages available to book for this February Half Term Holiday.

The Lake District is perfect for a family holiday. There are fun activities for all ages – from baby to grandparents. The World of Beatrix Potter in Bowness on Windermere is a fun journey through the books of the popular author. Explore the glade of Jemima Puddleduck and Mr Tod’s Underground Home, with favourite scenes rendered in 3D. Explore the delights and scent of Peter Rabbit’s garden and visit Mrs Tiggy-winkle’s Kitchen. Take a virtual walk through Potter’s beloved countryside and finish at the cosy gift shop.

The Rheged Centre is a fabulous indoor attraction. It features family films, theatre and archery. On the 12th you can meet Professor Pumpernickel; learn more about science and the Victorians. On the 13th you can have an animal encounter with the Llama Karma Cafe. On the 14th there is an animation workshop and a Unicorn tea party. On the 16th and 17th, there is face painting and the fabulous astral circus. Performers do acrobatics, fire performance, juggling and balancing acts.

If you have babies, try the Island Cruise, a circular journey around Bowness. You’ll see beautiful forests, crisp mountains and smooth bays. Under 5s go free. The Fun Factory in Bowness is another great place for little ones. It has a soft play area with sections for under 4s and older kids, plus a cafe for adults. The Puzzling Place, in Keswick, is full of games, puzzles and illusions. Part of the attraction is free; the World of Illusions charges a small admission free, but under 5s go free.
