Location
In a peaceful area, this luxury holiday cottage in Ambleside remains within strolling distance of the village's sophisticated shops, acclaimed Lake District restaurants and traditional pubs serving real Lakeland ale. There are also two cinemas - Zeffirellis with pizzeria and live jazz, and Fellinis with a vegetarian restaurant and comfy studio cinema.
Ambleside is a popular village not only for its attractive historic buildings, traditional character cottages and charming cafe culture; it lies off the northern shores of Lake Windermere and is surrounded by breathtaking fells and excellent walking territory. Just a few minutes stroll from the village centre you'll find Waterhead Pier, with a few excellent lake shore eateries and steamer ferry departures to Bowness and Lakeside. A great way to explore the full length of the lake without using your car.
Ambleside historic attractions include the famously tiny 'Bridge House' (one of the Lake District's most photographed buildings), the Roman Fort Galava and also one of William Wordsworth's former family homes at Rydal Mount & Gardens.
