Attractions

Derwentwater, where Beatrix Potter’s Squirrel Nutkin set sail on his raft for Owl Island, is a huge draw for visitors to Keswick. It’s only a 10 minute walk from the town centre. Walk via the delightful gardens of Hope Park, home also to the dog friendly Café Hope which has free WiFi. Keswick is very lucky to have two great central parks. The huge Fitz Park at 28 acres is one of the most attractive urban parks in the UK. It is open views of Skiddaw and on the River Greta.

This is the town’s sporting venue and the smaller, more manicured Hope Park. It sits between the town centre and Derwentwater, provides a restful oasis.
